Start with a photo you may use
Use your own photo or material you have permission to edit. A search result, repost, or publicly accessible image does not by itself establish reuse rights. Check the source and any license restrictions before using someone else's work. If you cannot establish permission, choose another photo.
Consider the people in the picture as well as the photographer. An edit can introduce a new meaning that the person never agreed to. Ask before creating or sharing an identifiable person's image in an embarrassing, sensitive, or misleading context, and avoid uploading images that expose private information.
Keep the joke from becoming harm
Do not use Neegy to create or share sexual exploitation, non-consensual intimate imagery, threats, targeted harassment, or hateful attacks on people or groups. Do not use an edit to expose a person's private address, contact information, or other sensitive details. Content involving children requires particular care and must never be exploitative or sexualized.
Think about the caption and destination as well as the pixels. A harmless-looking character edit can become targeted abuse when it is attached to an insult or sent repeatedly to someone. The origin of a meme does not excuse using it to demean a person or group.
Make the context of an edit clear
Do not present a generated image as evidence of a real event, a person's actual behavior, or an endorsement they did not give. If a viewer could reasonably mistake the edit for an authentic photo, identify it as an edit or AI-generated image in the accompanying context.
Review the complete result before posting. Check whether faces, clothing, signs, or background objects changed in an unintended way. A prompt asking to preserve those details is not a substitute for looking at the result. Remove or remake an image if it creates a meaning you did not intend.
Permission and review matter for public display
Saving a result to an account does not by itself mean it should be displayed publicly. The Privacy Policy explains how generated results and public-use permission are handled. If you previously permitted public use and want an image removed from the website, contact us with the location of the displayed image.
Technical access to an image, including a working image URL, is not proof of permission to republish it. Review must consider the actual image, its source, and its context. An automated check cannot establish copyright ownership, the consent of every person pictured, or the meaning a caption gives to an image.
Tell us when something needs attention
Use the Contact page to report an image, explain a rights concern, or request removal of personal information. Include the page or image address and a specific explanation of the problem. We may ask for clarification to identify the item or understand your connection to it.
Removing an image from this website cannot automatically remove copies saved or reposted elsewhere. Keep a record of the relevant locations if the issue involves several sites. These practical guidelines supplement the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy; they do not replace those documents.
